| Starting a Boutique A "Boutique" is a French word for a small clothing or fashion store that sells specialized clothing. To start your own business as a boutique, you will need to first know what type you want. - Then find a location, unless you starting from home as a home based business.
- Obtain licenses, permits, and tax id numbers ( You will need at least a business license, a DBA fictitious business name registration, and a seller's permit license to buy at shows and wholesale.
